One of the pioneers of garage, breakbeat and dubstep, his pseudonyms include Zed Bias, Madslinky, Phuturistix, Henchmen, Daluq, Talissman, Ruffcut Bias, Nu Design, 7 Wonders, Dekata Project, Strontium Dog – just some of the names Dave Jones has recorded under.

With a slew of seminal releases in 1999 on his own Sidewinder and Sidestepper imprints, Jones then hit the UK Charts as Zed Bias in 2000 with Neighbourhood, now widely regarded as one of the all time classic UK Garage tracks. So much so that with the recent resurgence in the 2-Step sound in the UK club scene it was re-released last year with a remix from Roska that fully redefined its importance to a younger generation of clubbers. Bias also mixed the legendary UKG compilation 'Sound Of The Pirates' released on Locked On in 2000.

As a trailblazer of underground dance music, he is always moving with – or ahead of – the times and his productions grace the playlists of Radio 1 DJs Gilles Peterson, Annie Mac, Mary Anne Hobbs & Benji B, as well as making themselves at home in the record boxes of DJ/producers like Skream, Oneman, Loefah, Toddla T, Plastician, Benga, Martyn & Kode 9.
The first Maddslinky album, ‘Make Your Peace’, dropped in 2002, and although not given a very wide release it proved to be a highly influential record in the early days of dubstep, with the likes of Skream citing it a major influence on his work.

His most recent LP ‘Make A Change’ featured collaborations with Skream, Jenna G, MJ Cole & UK soul legend Omar, and was greeted by 5 Star ‘Top Tune’ reviews in iDJ and Mixmag. Other features and rave reviews stacked up across the dance music press, including XLR8R, Fact, Vice, Clash and many more, with the album being hailed as a triumphant comeback for the man who never really went away, but has been busily toiling underground while the scene he helped to shape has taken the music world by storm.
BR #45 Zed Bias (ft. Tawiah) by BOILER ROOM

If his recent set on the seminal London U-Stream show Boiler Room and his forthcoming release on Loefah's Swamp81 label then this night is set to go down as a classic!
